We start our fall program with Jeff Bender, executive director of the Canadian Institute for Bat Research, discussing all things batty.  Let's learn myth from fact.

Jody Allair, biologist and science educator from Bird Studies Canada, will present on forest birds at risk and explain who these remarkable birds are, what threats they face, and what we might do to help.

Milkweeds and goldenrods have very important ecological roles in our natural environment.  Both play huge rolls in supporting our pollinators.  Larry Cornelis will explain all this and hopes to convince you that goldenrods are the perfect flowering plant.

Join Tom Chatterton and experience the volcanic and biological features of Hawaii (the 'big' island), Oahu, and Kauai (the garden isle).  The island chain of Hawaii in the central Pacific has many unique aspects of its geology and flora and fauna that will be shown and discussed.

Dan Bissonnette of Naturalized Habitat Network will present on understanding the connection between plants, our environment, and ourselves.  His thought provoking presentation examines what defines native and non-native plant species, as well as some of the misconceptions related to them.
